Niall Olden is Managing Partner of Kernel Capital a firm he established in Cork in 1999 and Co founder of Seroba Kernel ( Life Sciences) established in 2009, with over €170m in venture Capital Funds under Management, investments are across a broad range of technology, medical device and life science companies. Kernel Capital’s portfolio of over 60 companies employ almost 1,000 people, primarily at graduate and post graduate level. One of Ireland’s largest and most active investors, Kernel Capital has is a strategic partner of Bank of Ireland and manages the:

- The Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Private Equity Fund II
- The Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Fund
- The Bank of Ireland MedTech Accelerator Fund

Kernel has led over 200 investments with its portfolio companies raising almost €500m in equity funding to date.
Niall has held and holds a wide range of directorships across both hardware and software telecoms, cloud, data storage, silicon chip design, medical devices, green technologies, life sciences and financial services. He commenced his career with the Jefferson Smurfit Group, working in Ireland and the UK and later with Clondalkin plc before joining Limerick-based software company Piercom where he was Finance Director. He holds a BComm (UCC 1989), is a Chartered Management Accountant (1994), and has an MSc International Business (2007) from Trinity College Dublin.
